Anglo-Saxons
The Germanic-speaking people of early medieval England, formed from settlers who came from the continent from the 5th century — Angles, Saxons, Jutes and others — and from Britons who adopted their language and culture. They spoke Old English and founded the kingdoms that were united as England in the 10th century.
