Gondophares I
Founder of the Indo-Parthian kingdom, reigning c. 19–46 by the traditional chronology (Robert Senior dates him earlier): a Parthian governor of Drangiana who broke away from Parthia and ruled from eastern Iran to Gandhara and the Punjab, with his capital at Taxila. He is usually identified with King Gudnaphar of the Acts of Thomas.
