Lusius Quietus
Moorish cavalry commander and general of Trajan who crushed the unrest among the Jews of Mesopotamia and was made governor of Judaea; the rabbinic name “War of Kitos” comes from his name. He was executed in 118, at the start of Hadrian’s reign.
