Martianus Capella
Latin writer from Madauros in Roman Africa who apparently practised as a lawyer at Carthage; author of The Marriage of Philology and Mercury, an allegorical encyclopedia of the seven liberal arts. Whether he wrote in the early or in the late 5th century is disputed.
