Mogollon culture
Archaeological culture of the American Southwest in southern New Mexico and Arizona, western Texas and northern Mexico, named after the Mogollon Mountains and defined by Emil Haury in the 1930s. Its people lived first in pit-house villages and later in pueblos; its best-known branch, the Mimbres, produced black-on-white painted bowls.
