Purnavarman
King of Taruma (Tarumanagara) in western Java in the 5th or 6th century, known only from the seven inscriptions attributed to him — the oldest written records of Java, with Sanskrit verses in an early South Indian script. They compare his footprints to those of Vishnu and record a canal dug in the 22nd year of his reign.
