Tanshihuai
Xianbei chieftain who from about 156 united the nomads of Mongolia and Manchuria into a confederation stretching from Liaodong to the lands of the Wusun; he raided the Han frontier, refused a royal title from the Han court and routed a Han expedition in 177. Died in 181.
