Yazdegerd I
Sasanian king of kings (399–420), called “the Sinner” in Persian tradition but praised by Christian and Jewish writers for his tolerance; in 410 he recognised the Church of the East, but around 419–420, after Christians had destroyed a fire temple, he turned against them.
