Dagobert I
Merovingian king of the Franks — of Austrasia from 622/623 and of Neustria and Burgundy from 629 to 639 — often described as the last Merovingian to wield real power. His army was defeated by Samo’s Slavs at Wogastisburg, and he was the first Frankish king to be buried at Saint-Denis.
