Đinh dynasty (Đại Cồ Việt)
Vietnamese dynasty founded by Đinh Bộ Lĩnh, who in 968 proclaimed himself emperor of Đại Cồ Việt with his capital at Hoa Lư. After his murder in 979 the general Lê Hoàn deposed his young son Đinh Toàn in 980 and founded the Early Lê dynasty; the state kept the name Đại Cồ Việt until it was renamed Đại Việt in 1054.
