Ibrahim ibn Nasr, known as Böritigin, a son of the Karakhanid conqueror of Bukhara, Nasr ibn Ali. Imprisoned after 1034 by the sons of Ali-tegin, he escaped in 1038, raised an army, made himself master of Transoxiana with Samarkand as his capital and took the title Tamghach Khan. He founded the Western Karakhanid khanate and ruled it until his death in 1068 (or 1069); Muslim historians remembered him as a great ruler.
