Isidore of Seville
Bishop of Seville from 600 or 601 until 636, the leading scholar of Visigothic Spain: author of the Etymologies, a chronicle and a history of the Goths, and president of the Fourth Council of Toledo (633). Venerated as a saint and Doctor of the Church.
