Karkota dynasty
Dynasty of Kashmir founded by Durlabhavardhana in the early 7th century and replaced by the Utpala dynasty of Avantivarman around 855. Under Lalitaditya Muktapida it was one of the powers of northern India and an ally of the Tang against Tibet; its history is known chiefly from Kalhana’s 12th-century Rajatarangini and from Chinese records.
