Nasir ud-Din Mahmud Shah Tughluq

Last sultan of the Tughluq dynasty in Delhi (1394–1412/1413), a grandson of Firuz Shah. For his first years he fought a rival sultan, his cousin Nusrat Shah, who held Firozabad; in December 1398 he and his minister Mallu Iqbal Khan were defeated by Timur outside Delhi, and he fled to Gujarat. Back in Delhi after Mallu's death in 1405, he kept only a shadowy authority until his own death.
