Oleg of Novgorod
Varangian prince, Rurik’s kinsman and Igor’s guardian, who took Kyiv in 882, united Novgorod and Kyiv and concluded the treaties of 907 and 911 with Byzantium. He died in 912 according to the Primary Chronicle, in 922 according to the Novgorod First Chronicle.
