Onogurs
Oghur Turkic nomads (“ten Oghurs”) first mentioned by Priscus with the Saragurs and Urogi around 463. Living later in the steppes north of the Black Sea and the Caucasus, they formed the core of Kubrat’s Bulgar union in the 7th century; their name is usually thought to be the source of the word “Hungarian”.
