Peter II of Bulgaria (Theodor-Peter)
A leader of the Bulgarians and Vlachs of Paristrion, born Theodor, who with his brother Asen led the uprising of 1185 against Byzantium, took the name Peter and the insignia of a tsar, and ruled the restored Bulgarian state, from 1187 or 1188 jointly with Asen. He was murdered in 1197 and succeeded by his youngest brother, Kaloyan.
