Person
Rajendravarman II
Khmer king (944–968), the son of Mahendradevi, an elder sister of Yashovarman I, and of Mahendravarman, chief of Bhavapura — and so a nephew of both Yashovarman I and Jayavarman IV. He brought the court and the Devaraja back from Koh Ker to Yashodharapura (Angkor), built the Eastern Mebon (952) and Pre Rup (961) and sent an expedition against Champa about 950; in the last year of his reign the temple of Banteay Srei was founded. His posthumous name was Shivaloka.
