Sanjaya of Mataram
King in Central Java in the first half of the 8th century, known from the Canggal inscription of 732, which calls him the son of Sannaha, sister of the former king Sanna. The Mantyasih charter of 907 names him as the first of a line of kings of Mataram, and a ‘Sanjaya era’ introduced in the early 10th century counts years from 716/717.
