Sukhothai Kingdom
Tai kingdom in north-central Thailand, traditionally dated from 1238, when Si Inthrathit took power at Sukhothai; it flourished under Ram Khamhaeng, became tributary to Ayutthaya by 1378 and was absorbed by it in 1438.
