Person
Suleiman ibn Qutalmish
Seljuk prince, son of Qutalmish, who after his father's death in 1064 found refuge with the Turkmen of the Taurus mountains and became their leader. After Manzikert he served Byzantine pretenders and made Nicaea the capital of what became the Sultanate of Rum. He took Antioch in 1084 or 1085 and died in 1086 near Aleppo in a battle against his kinsman Tutush — killed, or by some accounts by his own hand.
