Yazdegerd II
Sasanian king of kings (438–457), son and successor of Bahram V. He went to war with the Eastern Romans in 440 and fought the Kidarites in the east, moving his court to Nishapur by 453; his attempt to impose Zoroastrianism on Christian Armenia provoked the revolt crushed at Avarayr in 451.
