Yusuf Balasaguni
Yusuf of Balasagun — a city at the site of Burana near present-day Tokmok — Karakhanid poet and court official, author of the Kutadgu Bilig, which he completed in Kashgar in 1069–1070 and presented to its ruler, receiving the title khass hajib (privy chamberlain). He is believed to have died in Kashgar, where a mausoleum was built in his honour in 1865.
