Chandellas of Jejakabhukti
Dynasty of Jejakabhukti (Bundelkhand) in central India, founded by Nannuka about 831, with its centres at Khajuraho, Kalanjara and Mahoba. At first feudatories of the Gurjara-Pratiharas, the Chandellas became practically independent under Yashovarman and fully sovereign under his son Dhanga, and in the 10th–11th centuries they built most of the temples of Khajuraho. Their power waned in the 13th century, and the dynasty ended in the early 14th.
