Dantidurga
Rashtrakuta king of the northern Deccan, founder of the imperial power of the dynasty. A feudatory of the Chalukyas of Badami, he extended his rule over southern Gujarat, Khandesh, Berar and northern Maharashtra and by January 754 had defeated the Chalukya king Kirtivarman II; he died young, without a son, and was succeeded by his uncle Krishna I.
