Person
Indra III
Rashtrakuta king of the Deccan (914/915 – 927/929), the grandson and successor of Krishna II, crowned at Kurundaka in February 915. Between 915 and 918 he invaded the Gurjara-Pratihara empire and sacked its capital Kannauj, putting the emperor Mahipala I to flight; neither Dhruva nor Govinda III, for all their northern victories, had taken the imperial city. Like his father and grandfather, he married a princess of the Kalachuris (Chedis) of Tripuri.
