Liao dynasty
Empire of the Khitans under the Yelü clan (916–1125), founded by Abaoji. At its height it ruled Manchuria, the Mongolian Plateau and the Sixteen Prefectures around present-day Beijing; after long wars with the Song it made peace with them at Chanyuan (1004/1005), and it fell to the Jurchen Jin.
