Zhu Wen (Emperor Taizu of Later Liang)
Chinese warlord who began as a commander in Huang Chao’s rebel army, went over to the Tang in 882 and from 883 governed Bianzhou (Kaifeng). He took control of the court, had Emperor Zhaozong killed in 904 and in 907 took the throne from the last Tang emperor, founding the Later Liang, the first of the Five Dynasties; he was murdered by his son Zhu Yougui in 912.
