Magyars (Hungarians)
Finno-Ugric-speaking people of the steppe who crossed the Carpathians around 895 under Árpád and settled the Carpathian Basin; their raids reached Italy, Germany and France until the defeat at Lechfeld (955), and their principality became the Christian Kingdom of Hungary in 1000.
