Miknasa

Zenata Berber tribe of the central and western Maghreb. Miknasa warriors took part in the conquest of Spain and in the Berber revolt of 739–742, and Miknasa chiefs led Sufri Sijilmasa from the late 8th century; the city of Meknes is named after the tribe.
