Maharaja in Central Java who, according to the Kalasan inscription of 778, founded a temple of Tara at the request of the gurus of the Shailendra king; the Mantyasih charter of 907 lists him as the successor of Sanjaya. Whether he was himself a Shailendra or a vassal of that dynasty is debated.
