State1346–1371
Serbian Empire
Medieval Serbian state proclaimed in 1346, when Stefan Dušan was crowned emperor of the Serbs and Romans (Greeks) at Skopje, its capital; at its height it stretched from the Danube to the Gulf of Corinth. Under Dušan’s son Stefan Uroš V it broke up into the domains of regional lords, and it effectively ended with Uroš’s death in 1371.
