Soga no Umako
Son of Soga no Iname and the most powerful minister of the Yamato court in the late 6th and early 7th centuries. He defeated the Mononobe in 587, had Emperor Sushun assassinated in 592, built the Soga temple Asuka-dera and governed together with Empress Suiko and Prince Shōtoku.
