Vladimir II Monomakh

Son of Vsevolod I and his Byzantine wife, named Monomakh after his mother’s family. Prince of Chernihiv and then of Pereiaslav, he brought the princes together at Liubech in 1097 and led their campaigns against the Cumans; grand prince of Kyiv from 1113 to 1125, he left an Instruction to his children.
