Dhu Nuwas (Yusuf Asʾar Yathʾar)
Jewish king of Himyar in South Arabia (c. 522 – 525/530), known from inscriptions as Yusuf Asʾar Yathʾar. He seized power in a revolt against the client king of Aksum, massacred the Christians of Najran in 523 and was killed when Kaleb of Aksum invaded his kingdom.
