Kaleb of Aksum
King of Aksum in the first half of the 6th century (c. 510–540), also called Ella Asbeha, in Greek Elesboas or Hellestheaios. He sent armies to South Arabia and in person overthrew the Jewish king of Himyar, Yusuf (Dhu Nuwas); Ethiopian tradition says that he ended his life as a monk, and the Church honours him as Saint Elesbaan.
