Eleanor of Aquitaine
Duchess of Aquitaine from 1137 and one of the richest heiresses in Europe; queen of France as the wife of Louis VII (1137–1152) and queen of England from 1154 as the wife of Henry II. She took the cross with Louis at Vézelay and went on the Second Crusade; three of her sons were crowned kings — Henry the Young King, Richard I and John.
