Ishanavarman I
King of Chenla from about 616 to 637, the son of Mahendravarman, called Ishanasena in the Book of Sui. He ruled from Ishanapura, identified with the temple city of Sambor Prei Kuk; the New Book of Tang dates the annexation of Funan by Chenla’s king Ishana to the beginning of the Zhenguan era (from 627).
