Siyaj Kʼakʼ

War leader known from Maya inscriptions as “Fire Is Born” (formerly nicknamed Smoking Frog), from Teotihuacan or closely allied with it. In January 378 he “arrived” at Tikal, oversaw the replacement of the kings of Tikal and Uaxactun and remained the overlord of the young Tikal king Yax Nuun Ahiin I until his death in the early 5th century.
