Fall of Zhongdu
The Central Capital of the Jurchen Jin dynasty (on the site of modern Beijing), abandoned by the emperor back in 1214, surrendered to the Mongols after a long blockade and was sacked.

Genghis Khan’s war against the Jin began in 1211. In 1214 the Jin court concluded a truce and moved to Kaifeng; taking advantage of a mutiny among Khitan troops, the Mongols and their allies blockaded Zhongdu from August 1214. The chancellor Wanyan Fuxing took his own life, and the city surrendered.
Sources date the surrender differently, from April to June 1215, so the date is given as a range. Genghis Khan himself was in Mongolia at the time.
