Al-Mansur
Second Abbasid caliph (754–775), brother of al-Saffah, regarded by historians as the real founder of the Abbasid state. He eliminated his rivals, among them Abu Muslim, and in 762 founded the Round City of Baghdad, the core of the new capital.
