Kʼinich Yax Kʼukʼ Moʼ
Founder of the royal dynasty of Copán, known before his accession as Kʼukʼ Moʼ Ajaw. He took the royal sceptre in 426 and ‘arrived’ at Copán in 427; his portraits show Teotihuacan imagery, and his tomb has been identified in the Hunal building beneath Temple 16. He died around 437.
