Munmu of Silla
Kim Beommin, eldest son of King Muyeol and nephew of Kim Yu-sin, king of Silla from 661 to 681. Allied with the Tang he destroyed Goguryeo (668), then fought his former ally until 676 and brought the peninsula south of the Taedong River under Silla. By his wish he was cremated and laid to rest by a rock off the east coast, where, legend says, he became a dragon guarding the kingdom.
