Princess Wencheng
Lady of a minor branch of the Tang imperial clan whom Emperor Taizong gave in marriage to the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo in 641; escorted by Li Daozong, she was met by the king at the source of the Yellow River. Tibetan tradition venerates her, together with Songtsen’s Nepali wife, for bringing Buddha images to Lhasa. She died in Tibet in 680 or 682.
