Tibetan Empire
Empire of the Yarlung dynasty on the Tibetan Plateau, founded by Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century. At its height in the 8th–9th centuries it reached from the Tarim Basin to the Bay of Bengal and briefly took Chang’an (763); it broke up after 842.
