Treaty of Bucharest
The peace that ended the Russo-Turkish War of 1806–1812 was signed for Russia by Mikhail Kutuzov. Russia gained the land between the Prut and the Dniester (Bessarabia), and the border was drawn along the Prut.

The treaty was concluded a month before Napoleon’s invasion: the Ottoman Empire left the war, and the Army of the Danube could be moved to defend Russia’s western borders.
