Northern Wei
Dynasty of the Tuoba clan of the Xianbei that ruled northern China from 386 to 535. It united the north in 439, ending the Sixteen Kingdoms period; under Emperor Xiaowen it adopted Chinese ways and in 494 moved its capital from Pingcheng (Datong) to Luoyang. It was a great patron of Buddhism.
