Almoravids
Berber Muslim dynasty that grew out of a rigorist Maliki movement among the Saharan nomads, preached by Abdallah ibn Yasin. From the 1050s it built an empire over the western Maghreb and al-Andalus, founded Marrakesh (c. 1070), halted the Christian advance at Sagrajas (1086) and fell to the Almohads in 1147.
