Kʼakʼ Tiliw Chan Yopaat
King of Quiriguá from 724 to 785, installed as a vassal by Uaxaclajuun Ubʼaah Kʼawiil of Copán. In 734 he took the title of ‘holy lord’, in 736 he received the king of Calakmul, and in 738 he captured and beheaded his overlord. He then enriched and rebuilt Quiriguá and raised its giant stelae, among them Stela E (771), the largest stone ever quarried by the Maya.
