Uaxaclajuun Ubʼaah Kʼawiil
Thirteenth king of Copán, who reigned from 695. Between 711 and 736 he raised the celebrated stelae of the Great Plaza, he began the Hieroglyphic Stairway and dedicated a new ballcourt, and in 724 he installed Kʼakʼ Tiliw Chan Yopaat as his vassal at Quiriguá — who in 738 captured him and had him beheaded.
